Thermofocus Infrared Thermometers are the first Instant Read Thermometers of their kind to pass the most stringent CE and FDA clinical trials to be approved as a medical device for use in Hospitals and Medical Practises all over the world.
Thermofocus utilises Infrared Technology to provide accurate, fast, hygienic temperature measurement. Thermofocus Thermometers do not need to be in contact with the user to read their temperature, making it the perfect tool for combatting the spread of disease in times of emergency. Having been put to good use in Asia during the outbreak of SARs it will no doubt be equally useful in the fight against Swine Flu, Thermofocus is ideal as it eliminates the possibility of cross-contamination or spread of infection and requires no sanitising between uses.
How Thermofocus Works
All Objects and Living Things emit infrared radiation of varying wavelengths, the human body in particular transmits on a wavelength of between 5 and 14 micrometers. Thermofocus uses a sensor called a Thermopile that, when stimulated by infrared waves, sends an electronic signal which Thermofocus then recognises as a temperature. Thermofocus then makes automated adjustments to take account for the room temperature, and displays the body temperature accordingly.
THERMOFOCUS is manufactured by Tecnimed under the ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 13485:2003
Quality System.
The production, control and calibration of THERMOFOCUS® are performed in a Class 100 Clean
Room. Packaging is done in an Ambient Controlled Room. The quality of the product is further
certified by external independent institutes.
THERMOFOCUS is a Class IIa Medical Device as measurement instrument CE approved
according to 93/42 CEE Directive and TGA, FDA, KFDA and Koseisho approved and tested
according to ASTM E 1965-98.
