Thermofocus 0800H2 Infrared Thermometers are tailored to the needs of Medical Professionals. Thermofocus 0800 and 0800H2 are infrared non-contact thermometers specifically designed by Tecnimed for professional use (i.e. in hospitals and sanitary facilities), in order to provide doctors and healthcare professionals a precise, hygienic and easy-to-use tool to measure body temperature in any kind of condition.
HOW IT WORKS
Thermofocus® reads infrared radiations naturally emitted by the surface of the skin and calculates the whole body temperature (it can also be used for measuring the temperature of both solid and liquid objects).
Body temperature is measured by pointing Thermofocus® at the center of the forehead. Simply hold the thermometer close to the center of the forehead and press the “face” button: the correct distance between the skin and the thermometer is easily determined thanks to the aiming system emitting two red beams of LED light. As the thermometer is moved closer to the skin, at the right distance (approx. cm 3) the two beams of light converge into a single red spot. At that point, release the “face” button and keep the thermometer still until the lights flash: the temperature appears in the LCD display. In case the subject (i.e. a child) is moving, crying or has a perspiring forehead, it is possible to take the temperature on the neck just under the auricle. In case of old people, with thick wrinkles on the forehead, a low supplying of blood may provoke a low temperature. In this case as well it is possible to proceed with the measurement on the neck.
APPLICATIONS
Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 are multipurpose and can be used for:
- measuring the body temperature;
- scanning specific areas of the skin, in order to detect anomalies due to inflammations or circulatory diseases (in case of diabetic patients);
- measuring the temperature of open wounds or organs during surgical interventions, ensuring maximum hygiene thanks to the total absence of contact.
-Thermofocus was recently put to use en masse during the outbreak of SARs in Asia, and is the perfect weapon to fight the spread of the recent international outbreak of Mexican Swine Flu.
CHARACTERISTICS
Both Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 maintain all the characteristics of the 01500 series and implement a list of new functions, created to maximise their performances and their use in a sanitary situations:
- display backlight, which lasts two seconds after every measurement;
- “light bulb” button - in place of “memory” button - which permits to reactivate the display backlight for two seconds;
- “home” button disabled by default, in order to avoid pushing the wrong button (very useful for nurses, which usually take body temperature only); the home button may be easily enabled in case of use by doctors to take the skin temperature in other areas of the body;
- AQCS (Automatic Quick Calibration System) and MQCS (Manual Quick Calibration System), new systems which allow doctors, nurses and hospital staff to take temperatures easily even if they are moving quickly from room to room. For the same reason 0800 is also ideal for ambulance use;
- supplied with a lanyard, to be worn around the neck (with 0800H2 model only);
- supplied with a special “mirror target disc” (with 0800H2 model only), which allows to better and quicker accomplish the MQCS (a very easy procedure, very important expecially in hospitals’ rooms or on ambulances). Additional mirror target discs are available on request.
ADVANTAGES
The use of Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 ensures a series of great and concrete advantages
for both the user - doctor, nurse, etc. - and the patient:
- while other kinds of thermometers require disinfection after each use or need expensive hygienic and disposable covers, Thermofocus® do not need these actions at all. The non-contact measuring system totally eliminates all disinfection procedures and caps substitution charges, with a saving that for a hospital results very high in terms of both time and money; this makes Thermofocus a viable economic alternative to tympanic thermometers and many medical thermometers currently in use.
- thanks to its new patented quick stabilisation systems (AQCS and MQCS), Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 stabilize to room temperature very quickly, in about 3 seconds. A “plus” which makes them particularly indicated for hospital use, where room temperature can change from room to room, as well as on ambulances and in case of doctor’s home visit;
- Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 avoid disturbing the patients during the measurement of body temperature, thanks to its display backlight function. This function makes Thermofocus® 0800 and 0800H2 perfect to be used with children, elderly people, sleeping patients, also during the night, without needing to turn on the light in the room. More attention to the patient, without any additional cost.
